Wed
(4/28): We'll be live tonight, from about 9pm
to midnite Pacific time. Come
on by for our live RealAudio stream, live video, and
live chat.
Fri
(4/23): Okay, it's officially unveiled, Crack
Cam for the masses.
Wed
(4/21): The folks over at the Gametone
Universe (the Wrybread sister site) are still cranking
it out, check out his coverage of a good old East
Village, New York protest, and also the underground
rite of Spring known as Lovesphere.
Thur
(4/15): Last night we broadcasted our first live audio
from the Burning Man Drummer's Collective jam, check
out the archive. We'll be broadcasting every Wednesday,
8pm to Midnight San Francisco time.
Sat
(4/3): We're back from Baja, make sure you read
the report. This Wednesday join
us for live drumming/goofiness from the Burning Man
Drummer's Collective, with a live cam and maybe live audio.
9pm to midnite San Francico time.
Tue
(3/23): You should really see this, we're at the tip
of Baja Mexico, come join us.
Sun
(3/14): Holy Shit! We're live right now,
travelling by Cyberbuss, Baja bound. Follow
our progress daily, we're uploading by satellite phone
from deepest desert.
Wed
(2/24): If you happen to be reading this
between 8pm and midnite San Franciscan time, we're broadcasting
the Burning Man Drummer's Collective live from Wrybread
Ministries World Headquarters. Come join us. We'll be doing this every Wednesday.
Next week, if our gremlin tamer is successful, we'll have
live audio and video. Wrybread is Rising.
Thur
(2/11): Another dispatch
from Agent Guano is up. And check out the realvideo
movies of last night's Burning
Man Drummer's Collective. Also, go vent a little
bit at the Wrybread Chatterbox.
Wed
(2/10): Wrybread will be live tonight, broadcasting
the Burning Man Drummer's Collective, from 8pm to midnite
Pacific time. You can watch
on the live cam and chat and all that.
Sat
(2/6): We now have a
live cam, for whatever that's worth. Have a look.
It's still in the heavy beta stages, but if all goes well
we'll have live full motion video, no plug-ins needed.
Yes, we are rising. And check out our budding young nubile chatroom.
Tue
(1/26): Lieutenant Gespacho sent in another
dispatch. And our Santa Rampage stuff is listed on Netscape's
"What's New".
Mon
(1/25): Just for the goofs I put up a
photo narrative of my weekend ski trip camping in my van.
Fri
(1/21): Bad Connections got all spruced up.
Wed
(1/19): I put up a bunch of the comments
people have sent in from the Santa
section. Go there and click "comments".
Mon
(1/18): The Strange Noises section got a makeover,
and some new noises are up.
Sat
(1/16): Santa at last, Santa at last, Santa
at last! Thank God almighty, Santa at last! Words
and pictures from Santa Rampage 98 are up. Read the
bedtime story of 100-odd anarchist Santas
decending upon hapless Silicon Valley. Also check
out the Wrybread sister site, the Gametone Universe. Some
amazingly innovative stuff going on over there. Oh,
and by the way, happy birthday Martin Luther King.
Why not give another listen
to the I Have a Dream speech?
Tue
(1/12): Another dispatch from Agent
Guano on the Road.
Mon
(1/11): I put up another batch of messages
people sent to my beeper. They're
only getting weirder. Also, I combined the Wry
Comments and the Beeper Scribblings into one
humungous glump. And Agent Guano sent in another dispatch from the road.
Sun
(1/10): Agent Guano aka Gespacho, a member
of the Wrybread Yeasty Armies, is on patrol in Europe and
soon South America and sending in daily dispatches.
Give him a read and drop him
a note.
Fri
(1/8): Our Bad Connections section is a Netscape Cool Site of
the Day today, which marks the third time in exactly
a month that a slice of wrybread has been honored by Netscape.
I'll say it again: the folks at Netscape have good
taste, AOL notwithstanding. Just a sidenote:
that's the fifth time in a month that Wrybread has been
chosen by one of the major "cool site" indexes.
Yes, Wrybread is rising. But fear not: the wrybread
loaf will not go stale. We'll dispatch our yeasty
armies to the far corners of the web to maintain our freshness.
Tuesday
(1/5): The whole site is continuously getting
a sprucing. Today specifically I added more actual searches that led people to wrybread.com,
and most of the main pages got pulldown menus to make site
navigation a little easier. Also, there's always
new stuff happening at the Gametone Universe, click here for their updates.
And yesterday Wrybread was a cool site of the day at the
Mining Company.
Mon
(12/28): Today our Bad
Connections stuff is a "cool site of the day"
from coolsiteoftheday.com.
To celebrate we updated the sitemap and created the
Voices of the Void section.
Thur
(12/24): I put up more messages that people
sent to my beeper. If
it gets any more strange we're all in trouble.
Also, I know this is the moment you've been waiting for:
we now take just about every credit card, and we can process
your order on a secure server. If
you want to buy some slices of wrybread, click here.
Remember the Wrybread motto: "Support the underground
or one day everyone will be working for McDonalds".

Wed
(12/23): I put up a list of actual searches
that have ended up at WryBread.com. Pretty bizarre
stuff, the mysterious ways of search engines. You
can link to it from the WryBread Search Cam.
Tue
(12/22): Happy Solstice, and our Live-In
Vehicle Section is a "Netscape Cool Site of the
Day", which marks the second time this month a
slice of Wrybread has been so honored. A week ago
the
Evil Cave Boy madness was featured. What
can I say, the folks at Netscape have good taste, though
I'm sure AOL will make short work of that. We're getting
tons of hits, and tons of comments from people passing through
the site, and lucky you can read them all here.
Mon
(12/21): You can now search the whole site
using the little search window.
Find those hidden WryBread crumbs, some stale and some half-baked.
Sat
(12/19): At long last Wrybread has a posting
section. Click here
and say something goofy. Speak and
be spoken to.
Sat
(12/12): Just for pure giggles I put up a
screen where you can monitor actual searches being performed
on the Magellan search engine. Click
here for the Wrybread Search Cam.
Fri
(12/11): As of today this site is printed
on 100% recyclable electrons.
Wed
(12/9): You can read what people have said
to my beeper by clicking here.
Tue
(11/24): The Crossed Lines and Bad Connections
section got a full sprucing up. One of the sprucings
is that it now gives you access to the "Prank
Call Webring", for whatever that's worth.
Thur
(11/11): I put up a photo narrative of last
weekend's trip with The Cyberbuss
to Mount Shasta. Click
here for a virtual gonzo vacation.
Wed
(11/4): The RealAudio is fixed throughout
the site. If you've been having trouble hearing our
RealAudio from work, try the new firewall-friendly
area.
Mon
(11/2): The RealAudio has suddenly decided
to stop working, no idea why. It should be fixed in
a couple days though.
Thur
(10/22): At long last you can send messages
to my pager from Wrybread. Find the windows on this
page and in the Burning
Mann area.
Sun
(10/18): Wrybread now has a very detailed
text-based index.
And the Buy Some Wrybread section has been spruced up.
Fri
(10/16): Wrybread got a new sitemap, compliments
of Gametone Mic.
If you're suffering separation anxiety, you can still use
the old sitemap by clicking here.
Sun
(10/11): Wrybread was down for a couple of
days, she's back up now.
Thur
(10/8): Did a little house cleaning, nothing
radical. New stuff on the Burning
Mann pages.
Tue
(9/22): Whoa! I put up lots of stuff from
Wrybread Radio
on the playa in realaudio. And I added some other
stuff to the Burning Mann
section.
Thur
(9/17): Click here just for goofs if
you're using a post-stoneage browser. Also, more post-playa
reports in the Burning Mann section.
Sat
(9/12): Yet more stuff at the Burning
Mann section, including a Real Audio clip of Gespacho
out for a latenight walk to The Man.
Fri
(9/11): Much much new stuff in the Burning
Mann section. Lots of new pictures and other stuff
that I didn't want to send in via the pay-by-the-minute
satellite phone.
Wed
(9/9): Wrybread is back from the desert.
Have a look at the dispatches sent in via satellite phone
from the Burning Mann festival here.
Thur
(9/3): Wrybread is at Burning Mann right
now. As I type this I'm on the playa in the Black
Rock Desert, 1:39am. Go to WryBread
on the Road for pictures and journal entries sent in
via satellite phone.
Mon
(8/24): A hitchhiker goes crazy in the back
of Hugh Mann's car, all caught on tape and posted to Strange Noises.
Fri
(8/21): Some wrybread ethnomusicology goes
up in Strange Noises: music from a Rainbow
Gathering. We also put up some sounds of two cats
either having ex, making music or fighting.
Wed
(8/19): People are still reporting problems
with our RealAudio. If you have trouble, please send
an email mentioning which file you couldn't hear.
The SiteMap got a snazzing up, and a couple things have
been added to Strange Noises. And the Hiss Line page was updated.
Sat
(8/15): We're hoping the RealAudio is finally
fixed. If anyone still has trouble with it, email
us. Also, we spruced up the old WebJam
section. If anyone wants to resuscitate it, email.
Fri
(8/14): Put up some new wrybread music in
Strange Noises. Fresh baked.
Wed
(8/12): We havn't been writing to this update
board because there's just been too many updates.
But now we're going to start using it. So: the
underground percussion piece Asphalt Echo has been added
to Wrybread On the Road.
Fri
(7/24): Good Friday, Wrybread is back on
the air. Much of the old site is lost to the digital
abyss, but wrybread shall overcome. Be patient during
the rewrite.
Fri
(5/8/98): Bad Friday, Wrybread goes off the
air because of a dispute with our webhost provider and InterNICC
(the Big Boys).
