This
is a cross between an Australian aboriginal didjeridoo
and
a Haitian instrument that is called a vacine or possibly a bambu.
I've
made several of them and tuned them to produce
strange harmonies when played together.
They
are made of cardboard tubes discarded from the
Orchard
St. fabric stores in my neighborhood.
I
painted them to resemble bamboo
(vacines are generally made from bamboo).
The
mouth pieces are carved from wood dipped in hot beeswax.
(didjeridoos
have mouth pieces molded of beeswax)
The
trumpet like bells at the end are made from heavy plastic jugs
and are my particular variation to this theme.
