being held? Or is it a place name?

What was the deal with playa feet. I went around in sandles some of the time and put lots of lotion on but they still got cracky and rough, how does the alkali, and what exactly does that mean, cause playa foot? cd - jacqui

The alkaline soil will (given enough time) start to dissolve your skin. Alkaline just means the soil is basic (as in acids and bases).
