The End,
for now at least.

Maybe I'll write up how when we passed back through La Paz I got cornered by a Mexican cop very late at night, and how he took me into a back room and stood over me tapping his handcuffs in his hands, and how I didn't have any money (the Mexican passport) with me or even any ID, and how I couldn't understand a word he was saying beyond that I was either going to get my ass kicked or killed, and for some reason he shaking the whole time.  And how on the same night two of my travel companions got put in a drunk tank, one of them turning 30 while in the pokey.  And maybe I'll write up how we went sea kayaking among a school of massive grey whales, swimming between them and how their breath smelled like ham and onions.   Maybe I'll write up the shock of coming back to America where everything is busy busy busy and fast and for sale.  Maybe, but for now,

The End.

I too, stumbled upon your site by accident, but the story line compelled me to stay to the end...It is the Bohemian nature of your adventure that provided me the following:
Everyone should seek an adventure to another culture in their lifetime (and NOT via Club Med) in order to consider themselves truly enriched...Adios for now...bg

This was wicked. You're a freaky, entertaining soul. I would love to come with you on your next adventure! It's just a pity there are so many silly comments throughout, but editing them would probably not be right. Freedom no matter what.

WOW! WHAT A TRIP!!!I have lived in Mexico for 10 years and your take on things down here is right on! Used to have a 48 pass. school bus called "Mother Busser" in 1969.Before, had a stepvan called "Mother Trucker". Went to the Dallas pop & Denver pop festivals in it. If you want i'll send photos. Great job! come down here some time.

Took the whole trip in one sitting. I'm really moved by your beautiful writing, your quiet, humorous, insighful, deeply felt observations. I originally come from "cactus land" (Arizona) and some of your pictures really captured it. Great photos in general! and I think the cyberbuss's and its inhabitants' capacity to co-habitate and travel through lo-tech land while transmitting hi-tec data so the rest of us can get a taste, is just amazing... Way way cool... Talk to you soon! -Liz
