Morning came and we compared notes on the various things that went bump in the night.  Some of us heard every sound, some slept right through everything.  I batted about 50%.

When we broke camp, some residents of the surrounding apartments noticed us, and instead of being threatened the way most in America are by people living in their vehicle, they waved hello and good morning.  Nice.

I went for an early morning walk and greeted the packs of wild dogs,

which are just everywhere, and almost completely docile.  They don't bite the literal hand that feeds them, so I've never seen a hiss or growl out of any of them, and they're more than willing to accept a little petting.  In the countryside most of the street dogs have wounds from various car injuries, but in the city they seem pretty healthy.
