Wookie Maiden Voyage                           page 6 of 6

I dropped Sam off at the airport in Cabo, which was an absolute gringo nightmare, hell they even have a Home Despot down there. Then I headed back to Paz, which already feels like home. Here's the storage unit where The Wookie will (we hope) be patiently waiting for us when we fly back:

Lots of other vehicles stored there. It's almost criminal: this place is less than a kilometer from the airport, costs $40/month, and they'll even give us a ride to and from the airport.

Interestingly many of the other vehicles stored there were Canadian. Those wiley Canadians.

I drove back to the surf spot, just two hours from the airport, trying to beat the setting sun...

The Wookie isn't the smoothest over the washboard roads.

The GPS and jukebox make everything easy.

Lets see that GPS up close... By the way, if you're heading to Baja and have a mapping GPS, I can reasonably recommend this guy's Baja map. I'd also like to try this map.

And now it's almost time for me to go home. Right now I'm sitting in The Wookie parked on a sandy point on the outskirts of La Paz. I drove past a little gringo settlement, had a hunch so fired up my laptop, and holy crap there's an open wifi signal! That's super rare down here. Just in case you need one more picture of The Wookie, here's where we're parked.

And the current view inside as I type:

 Hasta luego, gringo.
