Sleeping on the playa is a blast. I drove Van Glorious out to deepest playa for the night a few times, which was absolutely stellar. It's amazing waking in that weird silence of deep playa, with no one for miles and miles. Unfortunately the sun is usually doing its best to get you out of bed.

The playa is almost as hard as asphalt, perfectly flat, and goes on for miles and miles. You can pretty much ride a bicycle no hands at night without even thinking about where you're going. The biggest worry is that you'll run into someone trying to catch a little solo snooze.
