We spent the night at Pyramid Lake, and woke to its gorgeousness. That's the eponymous pyramid to Jack's right (no, not the dome tent).

Absolutely beautiful when there is no wind. It can be raining with lightning at one end of the lake and bone dry at the other. I have competed in two triathlons at the lake and always had a wonderful time. Pyramid Lake has a larger surface area than Lake Tahoe.

Great pictures.
We've been thiking of camping around there after the burn this year, but saw that the lake is on an Indian reservation and wondered if that means we'd need someone's permission. What did you all do? Any information would be greatly appreciated. And thanks for the smile.

I hear you, Red. I had to wake up with the sun to swim naked that morning at Pyramid. Some guy in his car waerned me that I would get fined. Stuck it to the man anyway.

But we gotta push the envelope & make non-sexual nudity acceptable. Be kind, but go top-free or nude as much as possible!

I stopped at Alvord Hot springs on the way back north through Oregon. I dropped all my clothes and hopped in the water in front of three young women in suits. Didn't even give it a thought. I told them of BRC. They picked up on my glow and promised to be there next year.
